NDIS Assistance in Community Participation

Companion Carers can assist NDIS members in developing their social and civic participation skills. We can assist you in keeping your attention on resilience, wellbeing, and personal development so that you can successfully engage with the community and lead the life you want. The ability to participate in and be a part of a group or team can provide people a feeling of identity and purpose while also enhancing social skills and emotional well- being. We assist people with disabilities in identifying their objectives, developing their skills, and gaining access to the resources needed for social and community involvement.

Whether you want to join a sports team, volunteer, go to social events, or become involved in the arts, Circle of Hope can help you identify possibilities for social and community engagement. We seek to empower people with disabilities via community involvement capacity building so they may play an active role in their community and acquire a sense of social inclusion and belonging, which can have a good impact on their health.

Our community involvement services are distinctive and individualised, based on each person’s interests and desires. To ensure that each participant gets the most out of the community activities and participation programmes, each service is customised to best meet the participant’s needs and aspirations.

Participants who access this programme can anticipate assistance with working on:

  • The value of connections, social interaction, and community involvement in preserving personal wellbeing.
  • Mindfulness and self-care.
  • Recognising one’s own interests, talents, and passions and connecting them to career opportunities.
  • Emotional intelligence and self-control.
  • Adaptive social skills, such as a greater understanding of social norms and expectations.
  • Their connection to their disability, independence, self-worth, and confidence.
  • Utilising methods and programmes to effectively engage in their community and career path.
  • Access to training and employment opportunities preparation and support.
  • Building the ability to ask for help in a communal setting without receiving continual formalised support.

A person’s support system should not just consist of friends and family, but also the community, which can provide one a sense of identity, belonging, and purpose. An individual’s quality of life can be significantly impacted by the community’s support of people in their daily lives.
